The census of 1930 shows Paul D. Abbott, a water filter salesman, renting his home for $50, and Madeline Abbott, Also living with them was Paul's widowed aunt Edith S. Johnson, 46, from Massachusetts and of Swedish parents. She was a bookkeeper at a fruit store.6, listed with Paul Dudley Abbott Jr. living at 2317 W. 79th St., Inglewood, Los Angeles County, California.⁴

He died on 8 September 1994 in Ventura County, California, at age 96.¹
