Woodward embarked from Yarmouth, Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia, Canada, with C. E. Woodward and Mrs. C. E. Woodward.² They arrived at Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, on 11 August 1896.² Their home address was listed as at Melrose Highlands, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.² The census of 1900 shows Ernest A. Woodward, 15, at school, in the household of Clarence E. Woodward and Marietta C. Woodward, at 141 Walton Park, Melrose, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.³ The census of 1910 shows Ernest A. The census of 1930 shows Ernest A. Woodward, 45, an advertising salesman, and Mildred W. Woodward, 37 living at Melrose, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. They rented their home for $50 a month.⁶

     Ernest Ames Woodward Jr. was born in June 1919 in Massachusetts.¹ He is the son of Ernest Ames Woodward and Mary Mildred Wenzel.      Ernest L. Woodward was born on 28 April 1883 in Washington, Sullivan County, New Hampshire. He was the son of George E. Woodward and Alma Etta Seavey. The census of 1900 shows Earnest L.
