     Edith Victoria Woodward was born on 26 February 1889 in 29 Bainbridge St., Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts.1 She was the daughter of Harlow Elliot Woodward and Susan E. Howard.

The census of 1900 shows Edith V. Woodward, daughter, born Feb. 1889, at school, in the household of Harlow E. Woodward and Susan E. Woodward, at 1 Dunreath Block E, Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts.2 The census of 1910 shows Edith B. Woodward, 21, a milliner at a millenry store, in the household of George W. Priest and Florence W. Priest, at 23 Falloway West, Malden, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.3

The census of 1 January 1920 shows Edith Victoria Woodward, 26, an office stenographer, living at 888 Massachusetts Ave., Cambridge, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. She was a lodger in the apartment of Katherine Bauer, stenographer, and her brother Fred Bauer, toolmaker, both from New York.4

She married Charles Layton . They had no children.
As of between 1963 and 1964, Edith lived at 1353 Beacon St., Apt 5, Brookline, Norfolk County, Massachusetts.
As of after 1964, Edith lived at 37 Winchester St, Brookline, Norfolk County, Massachusetts.
As of 1970, Edith lived at 33 Lancaster Terrace, Apt 308, Brookline, Norfolk County, Massachusetts.

She died on 13 April 1973 in Lowell, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, at age 84.5,6
