The census of 1850 shows Caleb Woodward, 87, a farmer, and Eunice Woodward, 75, listed with Thomas P. Woodward and Olive W. Woodward living at Washington.4
He died on 12 June 1854 in East Washington, Sullivan County, New Hampshire, at age 91. He was buried in East Washington Churchyard, Washington, Sullivan County, New Hampshire.5

Capt. Caleb Woodward was a tanner and shoemaker. He was born on 24 December 1789 in Washington, Sullivan County, New Hampshire.1,2 He was the son of Caleb Woodward and Sally Foster. The census of 1800 shows Capt. Caleb Woodward in the household of Caleb Woodward and Sally Foster, at Washington. He was a soldier in the War of 1812, and a captain in the militia. He and Betsy Woodward published their marriage intention on 5 November 1815 in Newton, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.3 At the time of his marriage, he was shown as resident of at Newton.1
He married Betsey Woodward, daughter of John Chever Woodward and Releaf Whitney, on 19 November 1815 in Brookline, Norfolk County, Massachusetts.1 About 1819, Capt. Caleb Woodward managed the farm of Judge Haven. in Dedham, Norfolk County, Massachusetts. 1820 he and George Hill purchased land on the west side of the Androscoggin River, where he soon built a sawmill, which became a favorite place of resort for the local children. Caleb lived on the south side of King St., near the covered bridge, Oxford, Oxford County, Maine. Lieutenant Caleb Woodward married Hannah Cary, daughter of Ebenezer Cary and Martha Brock, on 30 April 1825 at Hebron, Oxford County, Maine.4,5
