Nellie Frances Webster was born on 16 April 1874 in Edenville, Marshall County, Iowa.1,2 She was the daughter of James Andrew Webster and Mary Emily Allen.1 She appeared on the census of 1880 in the household of her parents, G. Webster and Mary Emily Webster, at Eden, Marshall County, Iowa.3
She married Vene C. Gambell on 12 August 1890.4 , Nellie Frances Webster and Vene C. Gambell went to at St. Lawrence Island, Alaska, as missionary/teachers to the Yupik peoples there.4 Apparently there were some birth complications for Nellie and late that year they returned to the lower 48 for Nellie to have an operation.4 On 20 May 1898 , Nellie Frances Webster and Vene C. Gambell set sail on the Jane Grey to return to St. Lawrence Island. .4 She died on 22 May 1898 at age 24 when the ship, the Jane Grey sank on the return voyage to St. Lawrence Island.5,4

She married Christopher Sargent, son of Moses Sargent and Elizabeth ---(?)---, on 9 January 1789 in Plymouth, Grafton County, New Hampshire, where they had two children born.1 In 1792, Polly Webster and Christopher Sargent moved to Danville, Caledonia County, Vermont, where they had four more children.1
