The census of 1870 shows John W. Smith, cashier in a bank, with $12,000 real estate and $8,000 personal estate, and Georgeanna Smith, keeping house, listed with Edward C. Smith, Virginia E. Smith, Mary W. Smith, Eliza M. Smith and Wheeler E. Smith living at Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas.³

The census of 1880 shows John Smith, a partner in a book store, and Georgeanna Smith, Also in the household was a cook, America Singleton, 44, black, from Mississippi, listed with Curran Smith, Mary Smith, Lila Smith, Wheeler Smith, Edwin Smith and Norma Smith living at Little Rock.¹

     

He married Jettie M. Morrill, daughter of George W. Morrill and Lydia F. Wells.¹

     Olive Waterhouse was born on 14 June 1787.¹

She married Edward Anderson, son of Edward Anderson and Mary Mayberry, on 30 August 1806.¹

     Anthony Waterman was born on 4 June 1684 in Marshfield, Plymouth County, Massachusetts.¹

He married Elizabeth Arnold, daughter of Seth Arnold and Elizabeth Gray.¹

He died on 3 April 1715 in Marshfield, at age 30.¹

     Caroline Morgan Waterman was born on 21 June 1824 in Connecticut.¹ She was the daughter of Henry Waterman and Lydia Morgan.¹

She married Henry Martin McCorkle on 18 April 1848 in New York, New York County, New York.¹

     Henry Waterman was born on 9 November 1782 in Colchester, New London County, Connecticut.¹ He was the son of Capt. Zebulon Waterman and Sarah Hamilton.¹

He married Lydia Morgan in 1801.¹

He died on 25 September 1854 in Hartford, Hartford County, Connecticut, at age 71.¹

     Zebulon Waterman was born on 6 August 1713 in Marshfield, Plymouth County, Massachusetts.¹ He was the son of Anthony Waterman and Elizabeth Arnold.¹

He married Martha ---(?)---.¹

He died in 1759 in East Haddam, Middlesex County, Connecticut.¹

     Capt. Zebulon Waterman was born on 21 June 1741 in Colchester, New London County, Connecticut.¹ He was the son of Zebulon Waterman and Martha ---(?)---.¹

He married Sarah Hamilton on 14 October 1776 in Colchester.¹

He died on 2 May 1794 in Colchester or Salem, New London County, Connecticut, at age 52.¹ He and Sarah Hamilton were buried in Murray Farm Cemetery, Salem, New London County, Connecticut.¹

     Abigail Waters was born in 1775 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, daughter of Col. Josiah and Abigail Waters of Boston.²

She married Eliphalet Hale, son of Nathan Hale and Abigail Grout, early in 1809 in Boston.²

She died on 10 September 1829 in Boston.² She and Eliphalet Hale were buried in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.³

     Elizabeth Waters was born on 9 December 1610.¹ She was the daughter of James Waters and Phebe Manning.¹

She married John Lawrence, son of Henry Lawrence and Mary West.¹

She died on 29 August 1663 in Groton, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, at age 52.¹
