The census of 1870 shows John W. Smith, cashier in a bank, with $12,000 real estate and $8,000 personal estate, and Georgeanna Smith, keeping house, listed with Edward C. Smith, Virginia E. Smith, Mary W. Smith, Eliza M. Smith and Wheeler E. Smith living at Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas.3
The census of 1880 shows John Smith, a partner in a book store, and Georgeanna Smith, Also in the household was a cook, America Singleton, 44, black, from Mississippi, listed with Curran Smith, Mary Smith, Lila Smith, Wheeler Smith, Edwin Smith and Norma Smith living at Little Rock.1
