     Rev. James Robert Boyd D.D., of Greenbush Heights, N.Y. was born say 1810 in Geneva, Ontario County, New York, . His mother was Mary Scott, a cousin of Sir Walter Scott.1

He married Elizabeth Moseley Camp, daughter of Col. Elisha Camp and Sophia Hale, . They lived in a staunchly-built brick house at Sackett's Harbor on the shore of Lake Ontario, New York, where he helped successfully to fight the British in the War of 1812. The lovely old home is still standing with its beautiful gardens.1

James was a tall man and 'spare' in build, and wore a long, white beard. He taught school [English Literature] at Maplewood Institute in Massachusetts and at Hamilton College in Clinton and Hobart College in Geneva, New York. Professor Boyd spent much time in his library. He could read French and German, Latin and Greek, Hebrew and Sanskrit. He annotated works such as Milton's 'Paradise Lost,' Thompson's 'Seasons,' Young's 'Night Thoughts,' Bacon's 'Life and Essays,' Cowper's 'Task and Table,' a 'Westminster Catechism,' etc. He wrote a 'Composition and Rhetoric' and an 'Elements of Logic,' which were widely used in the schools of the eastern United States in the early 1840's.1

The census of 1920 shows Nellie Woodward, Nellie was an attendant for the County Institute, living at Wilmot, Merrimack County, New Hampshire.4 She and Sumner Woodward were buried in Bunker Hill Cemetery, Wilmot, Merrimack County, New Hampshire.5
