     Samuel Perley Strickland was born on 25 June 1801.1 He was the son of Hastings Strickland and Sarah Perley.1

From 1820 to 1833, Samuel Perley Strickland was a merchant at New Portland, Somerset County, Maine.1

He married Frances E. Cushing of Turner, Me. on 20 March 1823 as his first wife.1

Colonel and major general in the State militia, was State legislator 1827-57-58-62; was State councilor 1832; one of Gen. Grant's electors-at-large. He was a Democrat till the formation of the Republican party, which he joined. He was wealthy. He was a Unitarian, and believed that "after death, God is the father of us all."2 In 1833, Samuel Perley Strickland moved to Bangor, Penobscot County, Maine, where he partnershiped with Maj. Amasa Crafts.1

In 1834, Samuel Perley Strickland and Hastings Strickland were lumber merchants. Their mills were extensive, they handled large forests, and manufactured millions of feet of lumber. In 1850, they dissolved, each pursuing the same business and taking his son as partner.3

He married Ruth W. Bacon of Buxton, York County, Me. on 12 April 1846 as his second wife.1

     Sarah P. Strickland was born on 8 October 1826 in Livermore, Androscoggin County, Maine.1 She was the daughter of John Strickland and Julia A. Sawin of Lansingburg, N. Y.1

She married Ganem Washburn on 19 November 1850.1

She died after 1880.1

William Hastings Strickland was State legislator in 1876, and business partner of his father and brother in the lumber business.2 He was born on 4 February 1830.3 He was the son of Hastings Strickland and Clarinda Brettun of Livermore.1

He married Clara Leighton on 26 December 1855 in Bangor, Penobscot County, Maine.3

     William Lee Strickland was born on 12 June 1868 in Bangor, Penobscot County, Maine.1 He was the son of Charles Lee Strickland and Jessie Russell Watson.1 He was educated in Charlottetown and New York, studied law under Judge Hodgson of the former place, and was admitted to the Canadian bar in 1892 and to the bar in Massachusetts in 1896. He served the city of Boston in the Common Council as a Republican, 1900-1901.1

He married Charlotte L. Gage on 11 October 1901 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts.1

In 1906, William Lee Strickland was an attorney-at-law at Boston.1

Isabel Strobridge

     Isabel Strobridge was born in October 1847 in Vermont.1

She married Frank Kimball, son of Ira Kimball and Betsey Carter, on 23 March 1875.

The census of 1900 shows Frank Kimball, 49, farm laborer, and Isabel Strobridge, wife, 52, mother of four, of whom two still living, listed with Ida M. Kimball, Nellie J. Kimball and Walter B. Kimball living at Peacham, Caledonia County, Vermont.1

She died about 1911.

He married Rosaltha A. Alexander, daughter of Philip C. Alexander and Mary Ann Taylor, in 1855.2

The census of 1860 shows Asa Strong, 27, a painter with $150 personal estate, and Rosella Strong, 27 living at Holyoke, Hampden County, Massachusetts. They were living with the McCallister family.1
