The census of 1910 shows Edgar E. Stanyan, 49, a farmer, and Ida E. Stanyan, 51, listed with Eliza J. Hodge living at Maple Street, Wenham, Essex County, Massachusetts.2

     Betsey Staples was born on 16 October 1808 in Turner, Androscoggin County, Maine.1 She and James Sullivan Hale filed their marriage intention on 24 January 1835.1

She married James Sullivan Hale, son of David Hale and Sarah Kingsbury, on 11 February 1835 in Turner, Married by Allen Greely, clergyman of Turner, ME.1

The census of 1880 shows James S. Hale, James was a farmer. Also in the household was Alicia Burbank, 47, and Betsy Hale living at Turner.2

She died on 5 December 1881 in Turner, at age 73.1
