Sarah Soole was christened on 7 June 1600 at Hawkhurst, Kent, England.

She married Samuel Hinckley on 16 May 1617 in Hawkhurst, In addition to the listed children, they had one buried 8 July 1640, unbaptized, and twins, buried in 1641.¹

She died on 18 August 1656 in Barnstable, Barnstable County, Massachusetts, at age 56.

The census of 1900 shows Charles Ansel Houghton, age 53, a farmer, and Alice Frances Soule, mother of 5 children, all living at the time living at Sidney, Kennebec County, Maine.³

Augustus Lord Soule was the son of Gideon Lane Soule and Elizabeth Phillips Emery.¹ He was graduated in 1846 from Harvard College, and became a lawyer at Springfield, Mass; appointed Justice of the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts in the 1870's; resigned 1881.¹

He died on 25 August 1887.¹

Gideon Lane Soule¹

b. 25 July 1796, d. 28 May 1879

Gideon Lane Soule was born on 25 July 1796, entered Phillips Exeter Academy in 1813, and went thence to Bowdoin College in 1814.² He was graduated in 1818 from Bowdoin College . He was an assistant instructor there in 1818-19; in 1822 became professor of ancient languages there, and held that place till 1838, then became principal, and so remained till 1873, when he resigned.²

He married Elizabeth Phillips Emery, daughter of Noah Emery , son of Noah and Joanna (Perryman) Emery and Jane Hale, on 26 August 1822.² He was graduated in 1856 from Harvard College with LL. D. degree.²

He died on 28 May 1879 in Exeter, Rockingham County, New Hampshire, at age 82.²
