Abigail Smith was the wife of John Adams, who was the second President of the United States, and the mother of John Quincy Adams, the sixth.
She married John Adams, son of John Adams and Susanna Boylston, on 25 October 1764 in Weymouth, She was his 3rd cousin.
She died on 28 October 1818 of typhoid fever, in that part of Braintree which is now in Quincy, Norfolk County, Massachusetts at age 73. She and John Adams were buried in United First Parish Church, Quincy, Norfolk County, Massachusetts.
