     Ernest F. "Ernie" Sears was born on 16 June 1916 in Hyannis, Barnstable County, Massachusetts. He was the son of Luther H. Sears and Edith B. Hubley. He was graduated from Braintree High School.¹ He was graduated from Quincy Trade School.¹

He married Ellenor Rae Howe, daughter of Charles Samuel Howe and Alice Williams, in 1941 or 1942.²

During World War II, Ernie had been employed as an armament machinist by the Department of the Army for the U.S. Government. After the War, Ernie then had worked for the Norton Company for over 25 years before he retired in 1976. One of Ernie's passions was music and he loved to play in all sorts of bands. He was a member of the Matthew Whittall Masonic Lodge in Shrewsbury and played in the brass bands of the Aletheia Grotto, and Aleppo Temple Shrine. His other memberships include the Worcester Musicians Union, the Shrewsbury Grange and the Shrewsbury Historical Society.¹
