     Louise Hale Scott was born on 13 September 1841.¹ She was the daughter of Rev. Elihu Scott and Louisa Hale.¹

She married Clinton Ewens on 7 May 1873 in Salem, Rockingham County, New Hampshire.¹

     Martha Scott was the daughter of Benjamin Scott and Martha Perley.¹

She died on 1 August 1783 in infancy.¹

     Martha Scott was born on 1 May 1790.¹ She was the daughter of Benjamin Scott and Martha Perley.¹

She married Capt. Solomon Dodge on 7 November 1809 as his second wife.¹

She died on 1 November 1873 at age 83.¹

     Mary Ann Scott was born on 21 November 1818, daughter of Nathaniel Scott.¹

She married Warren Nourse, son of Daniel Nourse and Hannah Jewett of Rowley, on 3 December 1843.¹

She died on 9 April 1900 at age 81 of pneumonia. The local journal in a notice of her said: "In disposition amiable, in character irreproachable, in life quiet, Christ-like and consistent, it may truthfully be said of her, 'Blessed are the pure in heart.' She was a woman of most attractive personal appearance, which was made still more beautiful by the graces of mind and heart with which she was endowed. In her girlhood days she united with the Methodist church, for which she always retained a deep love."¹

     Mary Ann Scott is the daughter of Nathaniel Scott and Sarah Kimball.¹

     Mary Louise Scott was born on 2 December 1872.¹ She was the daughter of Harry Hale Scott and Martha E. Roys of Sheffield, Mass.¹

     Nathaniel Scott was born on 12 July 1785.¹ He was the son of Benjamin Scott and Martha Perley.¹

He married Sarah Kimball on 20 February 1812.¹

Nathaniel Scott was a farmer, and took charge of the " Treadwell farm," on East street, Ipswich, Essex County, Massachusetts, on 23 March 1819. He was several years superintendent of the Ipswich town farm.¹

He died on 16 November 1862 at age 77.¹

     Patience Scott was born about 1648.¹ She was the daughter of Richard Scott and Catherine Marbury.¹

     Perley Scott was born on 6 January 1804.² He was the son of Benjamin Scott and Martha Perley.¹

He married Almira Stone on 7 November 1839.²

He died on 17 January 1872 at age 68.²

     Richard Scott was born in 1607.²

He married Catherine Marbury, daughter of Rev. Francis Marbury and Bridget Dryden.¹

He received a bequest from his brother, George Scott, of London, merchant, in his will dated September 9, 1640, and proved April 22, 1642, in which reference is made to their father, Edward Scott, of Clemsford, county Suffolk, England. (See New England Genealogical Register, page 254, Vol. LI). Richard was a shoemaker by trade. He came over in 1634 on the ship "Griffin" and was admitted to the church at Boston, August 28, 1634.

Governor Winthrop relates: "One Scott and Eliot of Ipswich were lost in their way homewards and wandered up and down six days and ate nothing. At length they were found by an Indian, being almost senseless for want of food." He removed in 1634 to Ipswich and before 1637 to Providence, Rhode Island. He signed the famous Providence Compact, August 20, 1637, or soon afterward.²

Scott was admitted a freeman in 1655. He and his family were constantly subjected to religious persecution. On 16 Sep 1658, his future son-in-law, Christopher Holder, had his right ear cut off at Boston, for the crime of being a Quaker.²

     Russell Scott was born on 23 September 1859.¹ He was the son of Joseph Gould Scott and Mary A. Lane of Raymond, N. H.¹

He died on 23 March 1860.¹

     Russell Lane Scott was born on 13 August 1861.¹ He was the son of Joseph Gould Scott and Mary A. Lane of Raymond, N. H.¹

     Sally Scott was born on 30 April 1792.² She was the daughter of Benjamin Scott and Martha Perley.¹

She married Capt. William Cummings on 24 April 1815.³

She died on 17 August 1878 in Topsfield, Essex County, Massachusetts, at age 86.³
