     Elizabeth Betsey Royse was born in 1798 in Bardstown, Nelson County, Kentucky.¹ She was the daughter of Frederick Royse and Sarah DeWitt.¹

She married William Edmondson.¹

     Ellen Lourine Royse was born on 8 October 1916 in Saint Louis, St. Louis County, Missouri.¹ She is the daughter of Charles Custer Royse and Jesse Cleveland Martin.¹

She married Frank George Frimel on 31 December 1935 in St. Louis.¹

     Elsie M. Royse was born in 1884 in Indiana.¹ She was the daughter of William Brown Royse and Ellen Welch.¹

She married Ed Ott.¹

She died in 1940.¹

     Forrest Royse is the son of Harry L. Royse and Cecile E. Jackson.¹

     Francis M. Royse was born in 1839 in Fredericksburg, Washington County, Indiana.¹ He was the son of George W. Royse and Elizabeth McCrary.¹

He died in 1862 in Landing, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.¹

     Francis McGuire Royse was born on 16 December 1811.¹ He was the son of William Royse and Martha McGuire.¹

     Frederick Royse was born in 1750 in Bedford County, Pennsylvania, . The first known relative of mine to be born in Pennsylvania.² He was the son of John Royse and Hannah ---(?)---.¹

Frederick Royse was in the Bedford County, Pennsylvania Rangers during the Revolutionary War, enrolled as Frederick "Rice." He may also have served in the Hampshire County, Va. militia.¹

He married Sarah DeWitt in 1778 in that part of Virginia which is now in West Virginia.²

He died on 13 February 1825 in Fredericksburg, Washington County, Indiana.^1,2

     Frederick Royse was born in 1817.¹ He was the son of Martin B. Royse and Catherine Evans.¹

He died in 1849.¹

     Gabriel Royse was born on 11 September 1789 in Bardstown, Nelson County, Kentucky.¹ He was the son of Frederick Royse and Sarah DeWitt.¹

He served in the 5th regiment, Indiana Militia, during the War of 1812, and may have been at Tippecanoe. He cared for his parents in their old age and inherited the bulk of the estate.¹

He married Sarah Ann Whortell in 1817 in Washington County, Indiana.¹

He died on 7 February 1857 in Fredericksburg, Washington County, Indiana, at age 67.¹ He was buried in Horner's Chapel, Fredericksburg, Washington County, Indiana.¹

     Gabriel Royse was born on 27 March 1827 in Indiana.¹ He was the son of Gabriel Royse and Sarah Ann Whortell.¹

He died on 1 September 1834 in Fredericksburg, Washington County, Indiana, at age 7.¹ He was buried in Horner's Chapel, Fredericksburg, Washington County, Indiana.¹

The census of 1850 shows Gabriel Royse, 36, a trader, and Mary L. Royse, 35, could not read or write, listed with Mary A. Royse, Sarah E. Royse, Hannah Royse, Apolis Royse, Mabel Royse and Mariah Royse living at New Albany, Floyd County, Indiana.²
