Joseph Putnam was born on 14 September 1669.
Joseph lived at Salem Village, now Danvers, Essex County, Massachusetts, and the house occupied in 1906 by Susan Putnam, a lineal descendant, was standing on its original site, on the Turnpike, near the State Asylum for the Insane.1
He married Elizabeth Porter on 21 April 1690.
He died in 1724 or 1725.1
