Seth Meacham was born on 5 April 1751 in Norwich, New London County, Connecticut. He was the son of Samuel Meacham and Bethia Pease.
He was a Tory at the time of the Revolutionary War, and for being too free in the expression of his sentiments, once received a coat of tar and feathers administered by the Whigs. He served as a Corporal in Capt. Foot's Company at Peekskill, N.Y., from March 29 to May 20, 1777 with his cousin Jeremiah.
He died on 14 March 1807 in Harwinton, Litchfield County, Connecticut, at age 55.
He was a Tory at the time of the Revolutionary War, and for being too free in the expression of his sentiments, once received a coat of tar and feathers administered by the Whigs.
