Rosetta Jane Lovejoy was born on 3 October 1853 in Michigan.¹

She married William Warner Colby, son of William Colby and Hannah Locke Brown, on 16 August 1868 in Kent County, Michigan.²

The census of 1870 shows William W. Colby, William W. Colby was a farmer. His father, William Colby, was a shoemaker., and Rosetta Colby, listed with William Colby living at Grand Rapids, Kent County, Michigan.³

The census of 1880 shows Wm. Colby, 37, a carpenter, and Rosette J. Colby, 26, a housekeeper, listed with Warren W. Colby and Clara B. Colby living at Tyrone Township, Kent County, Michigan.⁴

She died on 15 May 1909 in Laramie, Albany County, Wyoming, at age 55.⁵

He married Eliza Jewett, his second wife, by whom he had John A., shoe manufacturer in Georgetown; Sarah M., born 1835, died 19 May 1871; Benjamin A., born in 1839, died of scarlet fever 28 Dec., 1846; Helen Frances.¹
