John Barnard was born on 24 August 1656, son of John and Sarah (Fleming) Barnard of Watertown.2
He married on 5 March 1683 his first wife, Sarah, daughter of Richard Cutting, and had only Elizabeth born 29 Oct 1684, by her.2
He married Elizabeth Stone, daughter of Deacon John Stone and Sarah ---(?)---, on 17 November 1692 as his second wife.1
He married on 23 July 1695 his third wife, Mary, daughter of Joseph Morse, and had John, 27 Jun 1695; Mary, 1 Apr 1697; Fleming, 19 Apr 1699; Joseph, 21 May 1700; Jonathan, 20 May 1703; Lydia, 2 May 1705; and Grace, 31 Mar 1707.2 He left a will on 12 August 1727., proved 27 Mar 1732.2

She married Amos Mix, son of Eldad Mix and Lydia Beach, on 4 January 1784 in Cheshire, by the Rev. John Foote, Congregational minister at Cheshire.1
Clarinda Barnes was allowed a pension as the widow of Amos Mix on an application executed September 8, 1848, while residing in Muskingum Township, Muskingum County, Ohio, at the age of 81 years.
She died in 1850.2 She and Amos Mix were buried in Muskingum County, Ohio.2

'AMOS MIX was born at Waterbury, Connecticut, February 2, 1759. He died at Muskingum, Muskingum County, Ohio, October 16, 1844. He married on January 4, 1784 at Cheshire, Connecticut, Clarinda Barnes. She was born January 6, 1767 at Cheshire. They were married by the Rev. John Foote, Congregational minister at Cheshire. Clarinda Barnes was baptized by Rev. Foote on November 22, 1767. She was allowed a pension as the widow of Amos Mix on an application executed September 8, 1848, while residing in Muskingum Township, Muskingum County, Ohio, at the age of 81 years. She died 1850. Amos Mix served more than seven years in the Revolutionary War. He fought in the following battles: Long Island, Kips Bay, White Plains and Yorktown. He was in the First Call, Lexington Alarm. 1775, under Captain Isaac Cook, went as far as Hartford, Connecticut, served 8 days. He served in the Second Call, 2d Company, 7th Regiment, under Captain Street Hall and Colonel Chester Webb, sent to Boston, enlisted July 11, discharged October 23, 1775. He was in the Third Call, 1776, in Fifth Battalion, James Wadsworth's Brigade under Colonel William Douglas. Served in the city of New York to help reinforce General George Washington, and on the Brooklyn front. He fought at the Battle of Long Island, August 27, 1776; Battle of Kips Bay September 15, 1776; Battle of White Plains, October 28, 1776. He was seriously wounded at the Battle of White Plains. He was a soldier in the 7th Company under Captain Nathaniel Bunnell, and in the Connecticut Line; also in the 4th Regiment under Colonel Zebulom Butler. Enlisted April 9, 1777 for the war. Served in Captain Baker's 4th Regiment Connecticut Line under Major P. Wyllys' Detached Battalion under General Lafayette from February to November, 1781. and fought at the Battle of Yorktown, October 19, 1781. He was a private and was pensioned April 29, 1819, under an act of Congress on March 18, 1818. He was living at the time at Muskingum, Ohio. He died in 1844 and is buried in Muskingum Township. His Will was proved November 9, 1844. He was a farmer. References: Colonial Records of Connecticut, History of Cheshire, Connecticut, and Army Records, Bureau of Pensions, Washington, D.C.
