     Jacob Zlochefsky was born on 5 February 1903 in Franklin, Norfolk County, Massachusetts.4
He was the son of Barnet Zlochefsky and Marcia Rovinsky.1,2,3 In 1942, his birth record was "corrected" to reflect his name change.2
George Joseph Levine ( born Jacob Zlochefsky) also went by the name of Zelig a name his parents called him as a boy, a Yiddish name which means "blessed joy."5 The census of 1910 shows George Levine, age 7, in the household of Benjamin Levine and Marcia Levine, at 422 E Central St., Franklin, Norfolk County, Massachusetts.6
The census of June 1920 shows George Levine, age 16, a clerk at a canning company, in the household of Benjamin Levine and Malisia Levine, at 298 Salem St, Medford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.7
About 1927 , according to Murray Goodman, he went to at Texas . Later in his wanderings, he was riding on a freight train in Champaign, Illinois where he fell out and the train severed both legs beneath the knee. The railroad saved his life and he went to school to learn how to be a printer.8

The census of 1930 shows George J. Levine, 27, a linotype operator, job printing, living in the home of widow Elizabeth H. Dutson and her two sons, living at 55 Station Street, Weymouth, Norfolk County, Massachusetts.9
From 1931 to 1946, George lived in the home of Roys Elliot Woodward, father of Ina Claire Woodward, at 33 Oval Rd., Wollaston, Quincy, Norfolk County, Massachusetts.1,3 On 24 September 1933, he was initiated into the International Typographical Union.
On 25 November 1936, he was working at the Quincy Patriot Ledger, 13-19 Temple Street, Quincy, Norfolk County, Massachusetts.3


He married Ina Claire Woodward, daughter of Roys Elliot Woodward and Claire Neal Colby, on 23 May 1945 in Bethany Congregational Church, Quincy, Norfolk County, Massachusetts.10 Between 1946 and 1948, they lived at 34 Oval Rd., Wollaston, Quincy, Norfolk County, Massachusetts.

From 1948 to 1966, he was linotype operator for Toledo Blade.11 From 9 December 1948 to 5 July 1957, they lived at 3135 Parkwood Ave., Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio.12 From 5 July 1957 to 1 April 1959, they lived at 5328 W. Bancroft St., Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio.12 In 1959 , they moved to 2654 Letchworth Pkwy., Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio.

He died on 1 February 1966 in Toledo Hospital, Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio, at age 62.13 He was buried on 4 February 1966 in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park, Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio, The funeral was at Ansberg - West, 1311 W. Central Ave. Toledo.14

Descendants of Simon Rovinsky (Levine family)
      Israel Zlochefsky was born on 28 November 1905 in Franklin, Norfolk County, Massachusetts.1
He was the son of Barnet Zlochefsky and Marcia Rovinsky. The census of 1910 shows Veagie Levine, age 4, listed as female, in the household of Benjamin Levine and Marcia Levine, at 422 E Central St., Franklin, Norfolk County, Massachusetts.2
The census of June 1920 shows Eisa Levine, age 13, in the household of Benjamin Levine and Malisia Levine, at 298 Salem St, Medford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.3


He married Clara Ramler in 1929.4

The census of 1930 shows Isidor Levine, 25, a plumber's helper in the building trade, and Clara Levine, 24, listed with Marcia Levine living at 59 Fayston Street, Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. They were living in the home of Clara's brothers, Israel and Harry. Isidor's parents are listed as being born in Riga, Latvia.4


He owned of a business in the Back Bay called State Lock and Electric, for according to Murray Goodman, he had learned how to be a locksmith and an electrician and he practiced these trades when he was a CPO in the Navy Seabees. Since he was a master in both trades, he went right into the Navy with the rank of Chief Petty Officer and was the supervisor of his division and had many men under him.5

     He married Thelma Marie ---(?)--- in 1955 or 1956.6

He died in April 1970 in Newton, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, at age 64.7
