He married Nellie J. Colby, daughter of Francis O. Colby and Carrie Farley, on 22 April 1891 in Goffstown, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire.^3,4 In 1897, Lafayette S. Lakeman and Nellie J. Colby were living with Nellie's parents, Francis & Caroline Colby.³

The census of 1910 shows Frank M. Alexander, 37. a self-employed jeweler, and Vasta M. Alexander, 34, listed with Herbert G. Alexander, Evelyn M. Alexander, Gladys E. Alexander and Leon E. Alexander living at Turnpike, Bow, Merrimack County, New Hampshire.³
