Mercy Bangs1

Mercy Bangs was born on 7 January 1682 in Eastham, Barnstable County, Massachusetts, son of Capt. Jonathan and Mary (Mayo) Bangs.2
She married Thomas Hinckley, son of Samuel Hinckley and Sarah Pope, about 1705.3 Administration on her late husband's estate was granted to "Marcey Hinckley of Harwich in sd County widow Relict of Thomas Hinckley late of sd Harwich now deceased."3 She was admitted to the church in at Brewster on 22 April 1711.2
She married on 5 October 1715 in Harwich, Barnstable County, Massachusetts, Joseph Cole of Eastham, born there 11 Jun 1677, son of John and Ruth (Snow) Cole, and widower of Elizabeth Cobb. They had three children born at Eastham 1716-1721: Mercy, Joseph, and Mary Cole.2 Mercy Hinckley owned the covenant at Harwich Church and the two eldest children were baptized there the same day.4
She died before 25 November 1747 at which time Joseph Cole married third at Eastham, Rebecca (Young) Harding. Joseph left a will dated 25 Feb 1764, proved 12 Mar 1766, mentioning wife Rebecca and his children.5
