Legg, 8, at school, in the household of William L. Legg and Emma A. Legg, at Worcester, Worcester County, Massachusetts; 36, a dyer.1 The census of 1860 shows Wm. H. Legg, 17, a farm laborer and at school, in the household of Wm. L. Legg and Emma A. Legg, at Auburn, Worcester County, Massachusetts; 45, a farmer with $2000 real estate and $350 personal estate.2

He married Emma Augusta Howard, daughter of John Day Howard Jr. and Sophia Hinckley, in 1839.1

The census of 1850 shows William L. Legg, 36, a dyer, and Emma A. Legg, 29, listed with Charles A. Legg, Wm. H. Legg, Luther O. Legg and Frederick L. Legg living at Worcester, Worcester County, Massachusetts.3

The census of 1860 shows Wm. L. Legg, 45, a farmer with $2000 real estate and $350 personal estate, and Emma A. Legg, 38, listed with Charles A. Legg, Wm. H. Legg, Luther E. Legg, Frederick L. Legg, Emma E. Legg, Jennie L. Legg and Gertrude A. H. Legg living at Auburn, Worcester County, Massachusetts.2

He died on 11 October 1889 at age 75.1

     Mary Lekain , known as "Aunt Sam" was born in 1788, daughter of John Lekain.2,1

She married John Gore as her first husband.1

She married Samuel Appleton, son of Deacon Isaac Appleton and Mary Adams, in November 1818 as her second husband. They had no children.2,1

She died on 19 May 1870.1

Leland in the household of Thomas Leland and Filena Leland, at Pajaro, Santa Cruz County, California; Thomas and his father-in-law Daniel Swan were farmers. His son Elmer was a telegraph operator.3

He married Sarah F. (?).2

He died in 1929.2 Alvah H. Leland and Sarah F. (?) were buried in Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park, Hayward, Alameda County, California, in the Masonic Cemetery section near southwest corner of Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park.4
