     Julia Ann Hend was born on 30 June 1881.¹

She married Clarence Jesse Colby, son of David Austin Colby and Caroline Juliette Howe, in 1900 or 1901.²

The census of 1910 shows Clarence J. Colby, head, 33, a farmer, and Julia Ann Colby, wife, 28, mother of one child, still living, listed with Edna M. Colby living at Green Road, Bow, Merrimack County, New Hampshire. Also in the household was a hired man, Perley Stone, 18, a farm laborer and native of New Hampshire.³ Clarence Jesse Colby registered for the draft on 12 September 1918. His home was listed as Hooksett R.F.D., Bow, Merrimack County, New Hampshire. Next of kin was shown as Julia Ann Colby. He was a farmer of medium height, medium build, brown eyes and brown hair.⁴

The census of 1920 shows Clarence J. Colby, a farmer, and Julia A. Colby, listed with Edna M. Colby living at Robinson Road, Bow, Merrimack County, New Hampshire. Also in the family was his father-in-law, William Hend, a 69-year-old widower, native of New Hampshire.⁵

The census of 1930 shows Clarence J. Colby, a farmer, and Annie H. Colby, listed with Edna M. Colby living at South Bow Road, Bow, Merrimack County, New Hampshire. Also in the household was a boarder, Ralph McNamara, 35, a saw mill worker from Vermont.⁶

She died on 28 November 1945 at age 64.¹ She was buried in Alexander Cemetery on River Road, Bow, Merrimack County, New Hampshire, in the same plot with David A. Colby and C. Juilette Howe.⁷

     Fidelia Hodge was born in 1855 or 1856 in New Hampshire.² She was the daughter of Hiram O. Hodge and Eliza Jane Colby.¹ The census of 1860 shows Fidelia Hodge, 4, in the household of Hollis O. Hodge and Eliza J. Hodge, at Manchester, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire.² The census of 1880 shows Delia Whitten in the household of Hollis O. Hodge and Eliza Jane Hodge, at 6 Stark Street, Manchester, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire.³

     Hiram O. Hodge was born in May 1830 in New Hampshire.¹

He married Eliza Jane Colby, daughter of Symmes Sawyer Colby and Louisa Ordway, in 1853 or 1854.^1,2

The census of 1860 shows Hollis O. Hodge, 30, a laborer with $50 personal estate, and Eliza J. Hodge, 28, listed with Fidelia Hodge and Ida S. Hodge living at Manchester, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire.³

The census of 1880 shows Hollis O. Hodge, 49, working in the Amoskeag Cotton Mill, and Eliza Jane Hodge, 48, keeping house, listed with Delia Whitten, Ida E. Hodge, Orietta Hodge and Harry E. Hodge living at 6 Stark Street, Manchester, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire. Also residing with the family was Elca Hill, 32, from New York, working at the cotton mill.⁴

The census of 1900 shows Hollis O. Hodge, 70, an extracts peddler, and Eliza J. Hodge, 68, listed with Etta Simmons living at 17 Charles Street, Danvers, Essex County, Massachusetts.¹

     Adeline Bethiah Holt was born on 5 April 1834 in Wilton, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire.¹

She married Samuel Alexander Sargent, son of Andrew Buntin Sargent and Betsey Alexander, on 30 April 1863 in Bow, Merrimack County, New Hampshire.¹

The census of 1870 shows Samuel Sargent, 44, a farmer with $6000 real estate and $3400 personal estate, and Adeline Sargent, 37, keeping house, listed with May Sargent, Fred Sargent, Sam Sargent, Enoch Sargent and Charlotte Sargent living at Bow. Also living there was John Hurd, 14, working on the farm and attending school.²

She died on 27 February 1880 in Bow, at age 45.¹ She and Samuel Alexander Sargent were buried in Alexander Cemetery on River Road, Bow, Merrimack County, New Hampshire, in the same plot with Elvira Sargent, Sarah A. Sargent and Sewell A. Sargent.³

     Amos Morgan Horner was born in 1852 in Brandon, Rutland County, Vermont.² He was the son of Eri William Horner and Betsey Russ Morgan.¹

     Eri William Horner was born on 26 March 1830 in Granby, La Haute-Yamaska Regional County, Quebec, Canada.¹

He married Betsey Russ Morgan, daughter of Amos Morgan and Betsey Duncklee, about 1849.^2,3

He died on 16 December 1915 in Seattle, King County, Washington, at age 85.¹

     Charles Ansel Houghton was born on 13 June 1846 in Maine.^2,3 He was the son of Daniel Gunn Houghton and Susan Jane Jacobs.¹ The census of 1860 shows Charles J. Houghton, age 13, attending school, in the household of Daniel G. Houghton and Susan J. Houghton, at Sidney, Kennebec County, Maine.¹ He and Alice Frances Soule published their marriage intention on 9 November 1875 in Augusta, Kennebec County, Maine.⁴

He married Alice Frances Soule on 24 November 1875.⁵

     Chesley Bean Houghton was born on 29 December 1887 in Massachusetts.² He was the son of George Edmond Houghton and Amy Frances Beaubone.¹

     Cyrus Houghton was born on 23 April 1801 in Waterford, Oxford County, Maine. He was the son of Major Jonathan Houghton and Rachael Hale. He and Leonora Thorpe published their marriage intention on 22 April 1826 in Bridgton, Cumberland County, Maine.¹

From 1835 to 1855 at Waterford,, Cyrus Houghton was lieutenant in the Second Cavalry of the Waterford Militia.² In 1850 Lieutenant Cyrus Houghton was listed with $500 estate.

She married Fred Hatch Small on 8 November 1899 in Portland.⁴

     Lucy M. Houghton was born in December 1885 in Minnesota.² She was the daughter of James Gilbert Houghton and Susan Drew.¹

     Anna E. Hovey was born in Norfolk, Norfolk County, Virginia.¹ She was born on 17 March 1818 in Norfolk.² She married Samuel Howard on 30 April 1845 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts.^3,4

The census shows Samuel Howard, 36, a tailor with $3600 real estate, and Anna A. Howard, 42, listed with Susan Howard, George Howard and Samuel Howard Jr. living at Chelsea, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. Also living there was Mary Hammond, 44, a dressmaker from Maine, with $500 personal estate. The family is listed adjacent to that of Samuel's sister, Lucy (Howard) Moore.⁵

The census of 6 June 1870 shows Samuel Howard, 45, cutter of clothing, with $600 personal estate, and Anna A. Howard, 46, keeping house, listed with Susie E. Howard, George E. Howard and Samuel Howard Jr. living at Boston Highlands, Suffolk County, Massachusetts.⁶

Anna E. B. N. Howard is mentioned in the marriage record of Harlow E. Woodward and Susie E. Howard on 2 June 1873 at Boston.⁷
