     Capt. Edward Hutchinson Jr. was christened on 28 May 1613 at London, Middlesex, England. He was the son of William Hutchinson and Anne Marbury.2,4 He came over in 1633 with Rev. John Cotton, his uncle, Edward Hutchinson, and other prominent persons.5 On 10 August 1634, he became a member of the First Church, and on 3 Sep 1635 was admitted to be a freeman.6 He and Catherine Hamby obtained a marriage license on 19 October 1636 at Lawford, Suffolk, England.3,6 In 1637, Capt. Edward Hutchinson Jr. was disarmed for supporting the views of his mother, and in 1642 was sent with John Leverett on an embassy to the Narraganset INdians.6

He married Abigail Vermaies as his second wife, and her second husband.7 He He.6 In 1675, he commanded a company in the expedition into the Nipmug country, at the commencement of King Philip's War under the command of Thomas Savage, his brother-in-law.6 On 2 August 1675, he was wounded in an engagement with the Indians four or five miles from Brookfield.6

He was killed on a mission of friendship to the Nipmuc Indians on 19 August 1675 in Marlboro, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, at age 62. His remains were buried in that town.6

He died in 1716.
