"Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice" (Philippians 4:4)
I hope you will have a very Merry Christmas tomorrow! (SMILE)
Winter Solstice has passed! The daylight will slowly start to increase again! You can see what it looks like in downtown Fairbanks any time of the day or night by visiting the Arctic Webcam located on Cushman Street, just north of the Chena River at the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner office.
lots of birds are still feeding at our feeders - a lot of Redpolls, a handful of Black-capped Chickadees, the occasional Woodpecker and the ever-growing flock of pigeons.... They are starting to be a real nuisance.... PLEASE! Someone catch these pigeons and take them somewhere warmer!!!!
Don awakened me last weekend to a rare sight in our neighbor's yard - THREE moose together - well I should say that three moose aren't a rare sight, but this group consisted of a vary nervous Cow Moose - a 7 month old calf, AND a yearling Bull with small antlers!! Just guessing, I would think the Bull is her first calf born last year and she hasn't quite "cut the apron strings" so-to-speak! In 29 years that was a first for me. Don was surprised by them - he stepped out the front door to go fill the bird feeders and he heard a funny bawling sound - he looked up and it was the very nervous Cow! The youngsters were eating the crab apples on the tree next door. So Don woke me up and I managed to get the pictures below, before the Cow and her calves crosssed the street and disappeared - although they were still in the wooded area down the street for a day or so.
