Through the Year in Fairbanks, Alaska
August 21, 2007

"The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come..."
(Song of Solomon 2:12)

This morning a flock of ten Rusty Blackbirds visited our yard. The color of their feathers ranged from a vivid chocolate brown to a deeper darker brown - nearly black. Their light eyes were almost a startling contrast! They were constantly moving - it was hard to get a picture without some sort of blur of them moving! (SMILE) Here are a few pictures. There is also a pigeon - you can get an idea of the size comparison. Enjoy!

You can see what it looks like in downtown Fairbanks any time of the day or night by visiting the Arctic Webcam located on Cushman Street, just north of the Chena River at the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner office.

I hope you enjoyed reading about my world! Thanks for visiting. (SMILE)
