R. C. Baker Memorial Museum, Coalinga, California

Don and I enjoy going to the R. C. Baker Memorial Museum in Coalinga every time we visit. It is a great little history museum which includes oil-drilling and mining artifact exhibits. We especially like all the fossils they have on display. The mountains near Coalinga were once at the bottom of a sea and there are a lot of fossils to be found in the hills.

A stringed instrument called a "Ukilin" Don likes old things with “vacuum tubes”	The only thing I know about the "Ukilin" is that it was a folk instrument used by early pioneers. Other folk instruments, including the fiddle, guitar and autoharp, were also used to carry on a rich musical tradition by the pioneers. An old stained glass church window
