SONG: It's A Marshamallow World In The Winter

My name is Barbara Logan and I will be your hostess. I arrived in the state of Alaska on July 7, 1977 and have lived in Fairbanks for over thirty years. When I was growing up, in hot central California, I always wished to live in a place where there was snow, so I could have a "white" Christmas. Well, now I have my "white" Christmases... also "white" Octobers, Novembers, Decembers, Januarys, Februarys, Marches and Aprils, and sometimes Septembers and Mays - EVERY YEAR!

The lesson of this story is:
"BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR." (SMILE)

Alaska is a beautiful state, filled with wilderness lands and an abundance of wildlife. It can get pretty cold here in the winter, but the mild summer weather makes up for the winter cold. The Aurora Borealis, or "Northern Lights," as we call them, are absolutely mesmerizing. It's well worth venturing out on a cold winter night to see them dance across the sky. I have a lot of information about Alaska and my Alaska photos on my pages linked below. I hope you can stay a while and experience a little bit of our life here in the "Last Frontier."

Yellow Star Back to the Top

Merry Christmas! December 18, 2007 - I have added our Christmas Greetings, a Christmas Letter from Grace and a page with several pictures of Don's wood carving projects.

July 10, 2007 - I asked Grace if I could share some of her great travel photos on my web pages and she agreed! Her new section is titled, appropriately, "Grace's Travel Photos." Look for more of her photo pages as I find the time to get them posted.

Merry Christmas! November 25, 2006 - Added Christmas Greetings for year 2006.

October 29, 2006 - Added a new page to start a Blog, of sorts - Through the Year in Fairbanks, Alaska

Merry Christmas! December 24, 2005 - Added Christmas Greetings for year 2005 and pages about our trip to California and Barbara's parent's 60th wedding anniversary.

July 5, 2005 - Added a Memorial Page for Cyndi Smith.

July 4, 2005 - Added a page of photos from a short Denali National Park trip in June 2005.

December 24, 2004 - Added Christmas Greetings for year 2004.

December 24, 2003 - Added Christmas Greetings and Christmas Letter from Grace for year 2003. Updated Seward and Anchorage vacation pages (MORE TO COME LATER!) Added Memorial Page for Barbara's Aunt Juanita and Uncle Johnny.

October 11, 2003 - Added pages about our little vacation to Seward and Anchorage

December 23, 2002 - Added Christmas Greetings and Christmas Letter from Grace for year 2002.

March 30, 2002 - Added Easter Greetings for year 2002.

December 10, 2001 - Added Christmas Greeting for year 2001.

September 2001 - Moved Genealogy pages to Rootsweb Server. Also added a page with some Wildflowers of the Fairbanks Alaska area, and a page about our Summer 2001 in Fairbanks.

April 2001 - Added an Easter Greeting. I have also been working on some of the pages - currently the Family Photo Album, adding and changing things, so some of the pages may not work exactly as they should, or may not have what they say on them, or may have more or less than they say. I got some new family pictures on our vacation, so will be adding more of those as well. Also I have new Ice Sculpture photos, but they are not ready to post yet. Keep watching here for information about that addition!

December 15, 2000 - Added Christmas Greeting for year 2000.

April 11, 2000 - I've made some changes over the last month. Hopefully this will make the pages faster loading. I added more pictures on some of the Alaska pages, so please be patient while they are loading! (SMILE) Still working on the genealogy pages.

January 29, 2000 - I have been working on changing over most of our webpages to Rootsweb Freepages. They give us unlimited space, so I am expanding, with more pictures on several of our pages, and more pages! Hopefully most pages will be "done" in February, but I will continually add things, especially as I keep getting new family tree information.
