I HAVE LOOKED AT THIS SEVERAL TIMES AND STILL CAN'T IDENTIFY ANYONE THERE..LOOK AT THE PICLTURE ON THE BODTTOM ROW IN CENTER WITH LITTLE BOY WITH SHORT PANTS BUTTONED TO HIM...THAT IS THE TYPE SHIRTS AND PANTS WE WORE AT ABOUT AGE 4 OR 5 AND COULD HAVE BEEN ONE OF US,,,REGARDLESS, THAT DENOTES IT WOULD HAVE BEEN ABOUT 1915-17..IN THAT TIME FRAME.

THIS IS A SIDE VIEW OF AN ELL TO THE HOUSE.......THE RIGHT SIDE HAD BEEN ADDED SOMETIME PROBABLY WHILE I WAS IN SCHOOL THERE..NOTE THAT THE TOP OF THE WINDOW FRAMING IS DIFFERENT.AT THAT PARTICULE TIME, BOB YOAKUM TAUGHT SCHOOL THERE FOR A WHILE...I BELIEVE HE WAS THE FIRST TEACHER AL AND I HAD IN SCHOOL......ON OF THE OLDER TALLER BOYS WOULD HAVE BEEN HOMER JENNINGS AND TIP PAYNE..AND PROBABLY ROBERT PAYNE...DO YOU SEE ANYTHING THERE THAT WOULD REMIND YOU OF THEM......THE MORE WELL DRESSED ONES WOULD BE ONES WHO LIVED PROBABLY IN THE BIG CITY OF LONE MOUNTAIN, WHILE THE OTHER WOULD HAVE BEEN OUTSIDE THE CITY.....OR OWNERS OF SMALL FARMS SURROUNDING......I WISH SOMEONE COULD IDENTIFY IT......THERE IS ONE SOMEWHERE IN YOUR COLLECTION MADE BESIDE THE SCHOOL WHEN MILDRED TAUGHT THERE BEGINNING IN 1925 FOR SEVERAL YEARS....TOM AND LUCILE, AND AL AND I COULD POSSIBLY BE PICTURED IN THIS, EXCEPT THAT I STARTEDKL CHS IN WHEN I WAS 12, IN 1924 AND GRADUATED ON MY BIRTHDAY WHEN I WAS ONLY 16 MORE LATER.
Uncle Fate

THANKS FOR YOUR NOTE.....YES THE PICTURE DOES LOOK SOMETHINK LIKE GRANVILLE HODGE AND ONE OR TWO REMINDED ME A LITTLE OF ROBERT...GRANVILLE WAS PROBABLY 4 OR 5 YEARS OLDER THAN AL AND I, AND ROBERT ABOUT 2 TO 3 YEARS OLDER....THERE WERE ONLY 16 I BELIEVE IN MY 1928 GRADUATING CLASS...ONE WAS EDNA MAE RITCHIE, ONE WAS NAOMI (NAME ??) BUCHANAN, LEE DAN STONE, AND OTHERS. I WILL HAVE TO REMEMBER LATER WHEN I CAN WRITE AGAIN..... I AM DOING THIS NOW IN A HURRY KENNETH MORRIS, MAYBE EDD EPPES, FLORA JENNINGS FROM LONE MOUNTAIN, DELTA MYERS, WHO MARRIED THE LAWYER (WAS IT BOYD MASON)....ALSO I THINK KATHRYN HUGHES..... ALL OF THEM OLDER THAN ME BY 2 YEARS OR MORE, SINCE I WAS ONLY 16 ON THAT DATE OF MAY 11. LOVE UNCLE FATE

I HAVE FOUND THE PICTURE TO BE A FASCINATING SUBJECT, AND KEEP GOING BACK TO IT AND TRYING TO IDENTIFY PEOPLE I STILL THINK AL AND I WERE IN THE BOTTOM ROW AT ABOUT AGE 4. PAUL PAYANE IS SOMEWHERE AT ABOUT SAME AGE..THE GIRL ON SECOND ROW THIRD FROM LEFT WAS PROBABLY EVA JENNINGS, AUNT ELIZA'S DAUGHTER AND MARRIE JENNINGS HARDIN MAY BE ON THE THIRD ROW, GIRL ON LEFT....THERE IS PROBABLY WALTER SHUMATE THERE, ABOUT MY AGE BUT ON SECOND ROW, ROBERT PAYNE ROW, MARGARET LANE, ABOUT MY AGE....IT WOULD HELP IF I KNEW WHO LEE AND IVY CHRISTION ARE AND HOW THEY GOT THE PICTURE....IT MUST HAVE BEEN MADE IN THE SUMMER MONTHS, AND AL AND I WOULD HAVE BEEN BAREFOOT...THERE IS A LOT I COULD TELL YOU ABOUT THE SCHOOLHOUSE WITH AN ODDFELLOWS LODGE ON THE SECOND FLOOR, THE BELLTOWER, AND SPECIAL EVENTS THERE, PIESUPPERS, OYSTER STEWS, FIDDLE PLAYING, AND ENTERTAINMENT THERE DURING EARLY LIFETIME.......CAL HOLLAND IS MENTIONED IN THE LADIES BOOK ABOUT NEW TAZEWELL..CAL HOLLAND WAS THE BLACKSMITH IN LONE MOUNTAIN, WITH EQUIPMENT NEEDED FOR FORGING IRONWORK, AND SHOEIING HORSES FOR THE 4 MAILCARRIERS AND THEIR SADDLE BAGS...LONE MOUNTAIN WAS ONLY A GRAMMER SCHOOL AND WE HAD TO GO TO CHS FOR HIGHER GRADES. THE AUDITORIUM HAD A STAGE,NO CURTAINS, BUT A LARGE STEINWAY PIANO THERE,,,,,,,,,,,HOMER JENNINGS, TIP PAYNE, MARGARET PAYNE WERE POSSIBLY IN THE PICTURE.....THE BOY ON BOTTOM ROW, LEFT SIDE, WAS PROBABLY ARCHIE JENNINGS, WHO WAS OUR AGE...........I KEEP PULLLING THE PICTURE AND TRY TO SEE SOME FACES WHICH MAY FIT.........EXCUSE TYPING ERRORS UNCLE LGP
