Mom had her 1st known heart attack at age 42. She had a bypass surgery a year or so later. She had congeative heart disease, which led to Mom's hospitolization in 1985. The last few months Mom spent at home in the loving care of Karen Lee .
3. Lost Our Home to Fire, 1959 - Cottage Grove, Dane Co., Wisconsin
We returned home from Grandma and Grandpa Burnson's farm that evening only to find our house burned to the ground. Uncle Floyd was a firemen then, and I understand I was scared When I saw his blackened face. Our woodburning stove may have been the cause of the blaze. Not much was salvaged.Fortunatly we were able to save Mom's Bird Book she made and some photos .
In some years later we would deal with another fire, this time Dad's bussiness, the "Paradise Lounge" was englfed by flames and totally destroyed in side.
