after a voyage of 42 days at the age of 16 Andreas sailed to America, landing in NY. He was then a poor boy working at his trade as a mason for a short time then moving to Wi. He was one of the pioneer settlers renting land for 4 years then purchased 123 acre farm land which had a log home for which he paid. 3000 dollars2.
