As I researched the records, it
almost appeared as if there were two John and Hanna Hippel families having kids in the same area at the same time. It was
only through several philosophical discussions with a "cuzin" who still lived in the area that we came up with this family
structure. I still don't think I believe it and I am asking for your help.

Check this chart closely: If seeing is believing, then John and Hanna began having children when they were ages 11 and 12,
and continued having children until about age 43. Now I am not sure that I would put it past some of our Hipple ancestors
to behave that way, but you can see why I thought it would take two families to accomplish such a feat. Were they really
that young, and that old for that matter? Did Hanna lie to the census taker? How about the guy that chiseled her tomb
stone? Or her death announcement? I was sort of hoping that someone would come up with some new information or ideas on
this old data. I would really love to have a record of their marriage. I dred to think that there may have been a
conversation betweeen a few of the pius ladies of the church that went something like, "Did you hear about that Hanna Shutt
child? Why, her name should really be spelled S-L-U-T !!!"

After all, this IS one of my grandmothers we are talking about. And then we can apply the double standard to Young John
and ...well, you figure it out. I would also like to set this conundrum up as an example of why I believe that these charts are superior to the old
descendency chart. To me, it clearly shows a sequence of events and chronology that casts some doubt upon the information
available and causes us as researchers to dig even deeper to find better answers.
