John V. HARRISON, the oldest surviving member of the family which settled in the township of Tuscola in 1837, and whose life has been a part of the history of the south-western section of the county, died at his home in Tuscola village Sunday, December 4, 1910 at the age of 89. Mr. Harrison was born in Lewiston, N.Y., October 24, 1821, and lived there until 1837, when in company with his parents he came to Michigan and settled in what is now the township of Tuscola. For eighteen years he was in the employ of his brother, William H. Harrison as a clerk. In 1843 he bought the farm he lived on for many years. In 1846 he married Jerusha Ann Lee who died only a few years ago, and since then he has lived with his daughter, Mrs. Adeline Andrews, until her death November 21, ult. It is thought her death hastened his own demise, for he declined rapidly from that date, pneumonia being the immediate cause. He is survived by his brother, William H., only two years younger, and three sons, Frank, William and Dennis. Funeral services were held from the old homestead Tuesday.*
