Henry Keck Rugh

(1843-1927)

Henry Keck Rugh was born in 1843 in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania to John Michael Rugh and Zeruah (nee Williams).

He served during the Civil War in the 21st Missouri Volunteer Infantry. He spent a prolonged time as a prisoner of war, having been captured at the battle of Shiloh.

Henry married Caroline (nee Terrell) in Scotland County, Missouri on April 16, 1871.

They spent most of their lives on their family farm in Scotland County, moving to nearby Memphis, Missouri late in life. They had 12 children, two of whom died in infancy and one who died in young manhood.

They have descendants living all over the United States and beyond. But many still make their home in Scotland County.

Henry & Carrie now rest in Prairie View Methodist Church Cemetery in Scotland County.
