My educated guess is that it is a picture of Minor Nelson's (Scotland County) threshing machine. Minor was the only farmer in our Azen community to own a threshing machine.

Every summer in June and July a great threshing-a-thong was held with "Mike" taking this threshing machine from farm to farm and all the local farmers pitching in and to help.

It usually took only one day for each farmer's oats to be threshed, then on to the next farm.

The farm ladies banned together to prepare threshing dinners to end all banquets. Dinner for threshers was a huge annual event.
