"Nellie" Bertha Nell (Rugh) Nelson was born near Azen in Scotland County Missouri in 1884 to Henry Keck Rugh and Caroline Victoria (nee Terrell). She married Chase Clark Nelson at her father's home near Azen. She and Chase moved to California in 1928. Nellie died in 1978 in Pomona California. She is buried in the Pomona Cemetery next to Chase.
