August Julius Pelz (Peltz) and Amalie Auguste Fleischer had the following child:

child 2 i. Bertie (Bertha Augusta)2 Peltz was born in Illinois on March 17, 1869.(14424) Her mother died when she was very young. Miss Mary J. Riker of Indianapolis, a single lady employed as a housekeeper for an elderly doctor raised Bertie from an early age and Bertie took the name "Riker" as her own. She became a public school teacher. She died on August 5, 1905 in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.(14425) On June 19, 1895 she married Will (William Wesley) Rugh.(14426) Will (William Wesley) Rugh was born in Clarion County, Pennsylvania on October 15, 1867.(14427) The 1870 federal census shows him at age 2 living with his parents and Rugh grandparents in Salem Township, Clarion County. The 1900 census shows him as a "bible teacher" at age 32 with first wife Bertha and children in Hanover Township, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. The 1910 census shows him with 2nd wife Mary living in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. In 1920 he is shown at age 52 still employed as a bible teacher and living with his family in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Will was the son of Emanuel (Jonas Emanuel) Rugh and Clara M. Kuhns.

He died on December 31, 1936 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.(14428) He was buried at Wildwood Cemetery in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.(14429) (See Will (William Wesley) Rugh for the continuation of this line.)
