In the Name of God Amen I Sylvanus Greenman of South Kingstown in ye County of King's County Yeoman being sick & weak of Body but of Sound mind and memory and Calling to mind ye Mortality of my Body and Knowing that it is appointed all men once to die do make and ordain this my last Will & Testament in manner Following first of all I give my Soul, into the Hands of God that gave it and my Body to ye Earth to buried? in a Decent Christian Burial Hoping that at ye General Resurrection it will be raised again by ye mighty Power of God and as Touching such worldly Estate wherewith it hath Pleased God to bless me with I give and Dispose of in ye following Manner & Form

Imprimis  my will is that all my just Debts & Funeral Expenses be well and truly paid by my Executor & Executrix hereafter named in Convenient time

Item  I give unto my well beloved wife Sarah Greenman one third Part of my Real Estate During her widowhood, I also give her one third part of my Personal Estate to her my said wife and to her heirs & Assigns Provided she accepts the same in lieu of her thirds

Item  I give unto my well Beloved son Sylvanus Greenman & to his heirs & Assigns forever all that my Farm lying in South Kingstown which I Purchased of Samuel Segar I also give unto my said son Sylvanus Ten acres of Marsh which I Purchased of said Segar Which said Ten acres is to be laid off next to N___eser Marsh and I give my said son ye same to him his heirs & Assigns forever

Item  I give and Bequeath unto my son William Greenman and to his heirs and Assigns forever all that my old homestead Farm lying & being in South Kingstown Together with ye remaining five acres of Marsh which I Purchased on said Seagar

Item  I give unto my Beloved son Benjamin Greenman and to his heirs and Assigns Eighty Spanish milled Dollars to be paid by my Executor & Executrix herein after named

Item  I give and bequeath unto my beloved son Thomas Greenman four Spanish milled Dollars to be paid by my Executor & Executrix hereafter named

Item  I give and Bequeath unto my beloved son Silas Greenman Eight Hundred Spanish milled Dollars to be paid ye one half part to be paid by my son Sylvanus Greenman and the other half part to be paid by my son William Greenman for which Purpose I have given them my lands as aforesd  And Provided they or Either of them should Refuse to pay their or Either of them Porportionable Parts of said Eight Hundred Dollars as aforesd that then I give & bequeath unto my said son Silas Greenman Sixty acres of land to be paid off of his part who Refuses as aforesaid if Both Refuse said Sixty acres to be paid off of Each of their lands as aforesd to him my said son Silas Greenman and to his heirs & Assigns forever But if Son's Sylvanus and William will & truly pay Said Eight Hundered Dollars as afore Described Then said Land to Remain to them my said two Sons Sylvanus & William & to their heirs & Assigns forever

Item I give unto Each of my two beloved Daughters Deborah & Sarah three Dollars they having had their Portions given them already

Item my will is that ye House & Lott of Land lying in Newport which I purchased of Capt. Sanders? be sold and the money arising from ye sale thereof to be appropriated towards paying my Debts and Legacy's

Item the Rest & Residue of my Estate of what name or nature soever or whereever it may be found I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Sarah and to my beloved son William whom I make & ordain Executor & Executrix of this my last will & Testament Rattifying and Confirming this and no other to be my last Will & Testament hereby Revoking & making null & void all other wills Testaments & Bequests whatsoever by me at any time Before made  In Witness ______ my hand & seal ye Twenty fourth day of October in the third Year of his Majesty's Reign George ye Third King of Great Britain __ Anno Domini 1763

Personally appeared before ye Town Council of South Kingstown ye 10(?)th day of November 1763 Mary Clarke & Benedict Helme and on their Solemn Engagement Declared that they saw ye above named Subscriber Sylvanus Greenman Sign Seal Publish Pronounce & Declare ye above fore written to be his last Will & Testament and that he was at ye same time in his Perfect mind & memory And that they together with Silas Greenman Signed as Witnesses in ye Presence of Sylvanus Greenman (late decd) at ye same time

The aforsd Will being thus proved it is approved by ye Town Council
