Imelda Fox age 5

This is the earliest known photo of MeldaFox elder daughter of the household. She always hated her name Imelda -because of its associations with pretension and grandeur perhaps - but her name has reverberated around the town  whether she likes it or not. and the original of this school photo was carried around proudly by her father for years - before he gave it away.

On the right is another picture taken on the step of 55 Birchington Ave Grangetown with her two older brothers Michael on the right and Vincent.  

They are dressed for a School Play called the Ten Little Nigger Boys where all the boys were blacked up for the event and Melda married Kenny Davison.

Melda's mother refused to allow her to be blacked up for the play. Quite right too.

She hasn't changed a bit
