John O' Neill  1908 - 1968

This is the earliest photograph taken of dad in 1920 when he was 12 years old. I happened to discover it among St Mary's School Archives whilst trying to collate the information there when Frank Wafer was Headmaster.

I was amazed to discover it lying in a folder amongst many others and realised that others may find similar photographs equally interesting - and so it proved.

The more I stared at these teachers and schoolchildren from the Edwardian era, the more I realised their worth. These were our ancestors hidden away in a drawer - waiting to be accessed by enquiring relatives, as anxious as I, to discover the past.
