NOTE: The connection with Water End and Christopher Oxlade also Witness Mary Welles who possibly was mentioned in the Will of Christopher North of Aston Rowant made 30 Dec 1678. Further, James Oxlade, the son of Thomas Oxlade of Plomer Hill, William and Henry Newell , possibly the husband of Ann Oxlade, who Witnessed Christopher North's Will. The North's had connections to Hugh Hunt who was the husband of Susanna Oxlade, the daughter of John Oxlade and Susanna Harman of Widmer Farm. The Norths were also connected with Richard Oxlade in building houses at Lane End.

James Oxlade (abt.1676-abt.1731) the son of Thomas Oxlade (abt 1641-1711), below, was mentioned as the father of John Oxlade, Godson of John Oxlade (abt.1642-1720)of Walters Ash who received a Bequest from said John Oxlade of Walter's Ash abt 1717. Chrisopher Oxlade (abt.1608-1687) named his son as John Oxlade (possibly of Walters Ash) in his Will of 1687.

The Will of Thomas Oxlad (abt 1644 - 1707) Yeoman of West Wycombe



In the Name of God Amen I Thomas Oxlad of the Parish of West Wycombe in the County of Bucks Yeoman being of sound disposing mind and memory doo make and ordayne this my last Will and testermt in manner and forme followingAnd I doo hereby revoke all former and other will and wills by me att any time or times made Impris I committ my Soul to to God and my body to the decent Intermt of my my Exer.s hereafter named And my worldly estate I dispose of as followeth ffirst I give unto my wife all my household goods furniture and implem:ts of household whatsoever Then I give unto her my said wife for and during the terme of her naturall life All my messuage lands tenem:ts and hereditam whatsover situate lying or being att or neare a place called *Water End* and all my other lands and tenements to hold to her and her assignees for and during the term of her natural lifeAnd from and after her decease I give and devise all the said Messuage Lands Tenements and hereditam:ts w:th their (appurtenances) and all other my lands and Tenem:ts to my son James Oxlad and to his heirs and assignees to hold to him my said sonne James and to his heirs and assignees forever upon Trust nevertheless and That he and they shall wi:th what convenient speed he or they can or may after my wiffes decease sell and dispose of the said Messuage lands tenements hereidtam:ts and premisses with their (appurtenances) all and for the best rate and price he or they can or may gett for the same And my Will and meaning is that the moneys made by such sale or disposision and the rents issues and profitts of the said premisses until such sale (the reasonable charges and expenses of my said sonne James and his heirs being first shown deducted and reimbursed) shall goo and be repaid as followeth that is to say one fifth part thereof (the whole in five equal parts being divided)unto my said son James and the remaining four parts thereof unto and amongst my foure other children Daniel Mary Susannah and Martha equally between them share and share alikeAnd in case either or any of them my said five children shall happen to dye in the life time of my wife and shall leave no lawfull issue living at the decease of my wife then in such case the part or parts of him or her or them soo dying and having no such issue living at the death of my wife as aforesaid shall give to be paid unto and amongs the Survivo:es and Survivo:s of my said five children equally betwen them share and share alike the mark of

And my Desire is that such sale and paymt shall be as aforesaid made w:thin six months next after my wifes death Item I doo hereby make and ordayne my said son James full and sole Executor of this my WillAnd I give to him my said son James all the stock of corne Cattle implemts of husbandry & other stock I shall leave or have upon the farme I hold of Sr Ffrancis Dashwood or elsewhere & all other my goods Debts rights Chattells & personal Estate whatsoever ( other than my household goods & implemts of household wch I have before given unto my wife) upon nevertheless that he shall wth what convenient speed he can or may after my decease the same to be inventoried & fairly & indifferently valued & appraised & the & full amount & value thereof in money shall be applied & disposed of as aforementioned in the first place my just Debts & funerall & Executors charges in & about the( promisses) & proving & executing this my will & the trusts in him reposed shall be thereout paid or deducted & the surplus thereof remayning being divided into four shares or equal parts one fourth part thereof shall goo to & be retayned by my said sonn James to his own use & the remaining threeshare parts shall goo & be paid wth in six months next after my decease unto & amongst my said three children Daniell Ssannah & Martha Equally between them share & share a like Butt in case either or any of them my said last named foure children Daniell James Ssannah & Martha shall happen to dye before their last mentioned respective Parts or shares shall be payable & before paymt or satisfacion of or forthe same wth out leaving any lawfull issue living att such his her or theirdecease or deceases then in such case such part & parts of him her or them soo dying shall goo & be paid unto & amongst such of my five children Daniell James Mary Ssannah & Martha share & share alike who shall happen to be living or to have lawfull issue living attthe expiration of six months next after my decease & to their ................
