Will of John Oxlade Barber Chirurgeon of Great Marlow



IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN.I John Oxlade of Great Marlow in the County of Bucks Barber Chirurgeon being sick and weake in body but of sound and disposing mind and memory thanks be therefore (Reward) to Almighty God doo make ordaine this my last Wil and Testament in manner and forme following(that is to sa) ffirst Imprimis I give bequeth and devise unto my son JOHN Oxlade my cases of razors and all other my Instruments that belong to my Trade of Trimming & Chirurgory with ( he ) Napkins and ffour Shaving Clothes with the Wash Boll powder and Salves and also my best Suite of Apparrell Item I give and bequeth unto my son WILLIAM Oxlade the summe of fifteen pounds of good & Lawful money of England to putt and bind him out as an apprentice as soon as conveniently it may be Item all the rest and residue of my Goods Chattells household Goods Apparrell debts personall and estate and stock in trade whatsoever I do hereby give and bequeth to my loving friends William ELLIOTT of Great Marlow aforesaid Butcher and William LAMBDEN of Great Marlow aforesaid Maultster whom I do make Executors of this my last will and Testament upon Trust and Confidence (Pro )That my said Trustees & Executors that and will permit and suffer my said son JOHN & my loving daughter MARY Oxlade to manage my Trade of Trimming and Chirurgery and selling of Brew and ( j holding) joyntly together for the Maintenance Guidance and bringing up of my younger children ELIZABETH SARAH ANN and ROBERT They my said sonne and daughter knowing and Giving to my said Executors & Trustees a true & just account and in three months & oftener if my said executors & trustees shall think fit to require it of the proffits and income of my said Trades and stock to ( ) the same may not be wasted or embezlled And in case my said son John & daughter Mary shall waste or imbezell my personal estate or Stock in Trade or shall not continue together joyntly to manage the same for the maintenance & of my said younger children aforesaid then my Will & meaning is and hereby enpower & authorize my said Trustees and Executors to sell & dispose of all singular my Goods Chattells & personal estate Whatsoever as they shall think fitt for the Maintenance Education & bringing up of my said younger children Elizabeth Sarah Anne and Robert untill they and every ofhem shall attain the severall & respective ages of sixteen years apiece respectively & after my said younger children shall attain their severall and respective ages of sixteen years respectively as aforesaid if there be any surplus of my said personalEstate remaining Then my Will & Meaning is & I doo hereby Desire my saidExecutors and Trustees equally to devide the said surplus between my said children Mary John Elizabeth Sarah Anne & Robert And in case my said personall Estatewhen sold shall not be sufficient to Maintain & bring up my said younger children Elizabeth Sarah Anne & Robert Then I doo hereby Give and bequeth unto my saidExecutors and Trustes their heirs & assignees All that my Cottage or tenement situate and being in Great Marlow aforesaid in a Street there called the (Wellend) wherin one (Snelling) Widow now dwelleth to the intent that they may & doo sell the same for the maintenance of my said younger children aforesaid But if there be no Occassion for the sale of the said Cottage or tenement as aforesaid Then I doo hereby give & bequeth the same unto my said sonne John Oxlade his heirs & assignees forever he paying out of the same to his Brothers and Sisters the summe of fforty shillings apiece And lastly my Will & meaning is that my said Executors & Trustees shall not be at or suffer any loss or damage whatsoever for or by reason of any matter or thing whatsoever in this my Will ( conteynd ) or for or by reason of any matter or thing whatsoever by them or either of them to ( ) or ( ) for the performance thereof or for or by reason of and any Trust or Trusts by me hereby in them & either of them (placed) And they or either of them are hereby Authorised & empowered to & (account) to him & themselves all such Charges Moneyes & expenses as they or either of them shall be ( )or putt to injurious troubles or otherwise in or ( out)the Executing this my Will ItemI give & bequeth unto my daughter Mary the sum of ( ) pounds of good & Lawful money of England to be paid to her out of my personall Estate to be paid to her ( ) of two years & after my decease In witness whereof I the said John Oxlade have unto this my last Will & testament sett my hand & Seale this sixteenth day of March 1702
