SUBSCRIBE TO THE OXLADE FAMILY HISTORY LIST

The Oxlade Family History Group provides a friendly forum for the research and sharing of information on the Oxlade Clan worldwide. You can subscribe to this Email List by entering your Email address in the form below. You will be asked by Yahoo to select a profile and most members choose something along the lines of oxlade_f_h (oxlade family history) or cusrach (cousin rachel), though, if you wish, you may use your own name. Group membership is by invitation, in the hope of avoiding some of the spam which floods our Email In Boxes these days. Taking up Yahoo's offer of a free Email address and using a Nom-de- Plume may also help, as Yahoo provides a very effective spam filter for their Email Accounts.

In the Comment to Owner Form please provide some details regarding the Oxlade Line that you are researching, for instance, the oldest Oxlade relative that you know of, where they lived and anything that you think may be helpful. You will usually find that several other members are researching the same Line. Before joining, you may like to take a look at the Oxlade Lines page at http://freepages.family.rootsweb.com/~oxladefamilyhistory/oxladelines_index.html which lists members and the Oxlade Line that they are researching.

New researchers are welcome and assistance is available if needed. When framing a question it may help to have a rough drawing of a Tree or a Family Group Sheet on hand which gives your Oxlade relative's full name, date and place of birth (if known) and parents and/or spouses details. These can be downloaded from the LDS site at the address below.

A very good FREE Family History Programme for your computer can be downloaded from the LDS Site at http://www.familysearch.org/ on the right hand side of the page Scroll down to Free Family History Software, which is printed on a pale yellow background, Click on Download PAF written in blue. It will download quicker if you do it when there is less traffic on the Net.

For a comparison of the various commercial programmes available go to W W W.GENEALOGY-SOFTWAREREVIEW.COM A comprehensive guide to beginning Family History research can be reached by clicking on Contents above. We look forward to hearing from you.
