• PUGH ... 21Jul2003 ... Family of Stella PUGH ... I am looking for any information on my family and my roots. We live in southern Ohio, mostly Jackson, Athens, Gallia, and Scioto counties. So far here is what I know. My great grandmothers name was Stella PUGH. My grandfathers name is Robert Lee PUGH (born Nov. 28) with brothers Gerald PUGH, Dwight PUGH, George PUGH, and Fred PUGH, and sisters Evelyn, and Wilma Jean PUGH. Gerald and Dwight have no descendants. Robert's include wife Deloris Slusher, and children Robert A. PUGH, Dennis PUGH, and Barbara PUGH. Fred PUGH's descendants include Roger PUGH, Clifford PUGH and Linda PUGH. George's descendants include Jerry PUGH, Tony PUGH and Greg PUGH. Robert A PUGH (born January 25 1955) of Wellston Ohio is my father. I am Tonya PUGH Any information about my family will greatly be appreciated.

• PUGH ... 23Jul2003 ... Aquilla PEW / Aquilla PUGH ... Born abt 1785 in North Carolina, d about 1851, Bullitt County, Kentucky. According to the various census, Aquilla had about 16 children, six (6) known ones being Jane born about 1810, Phoebe born about 1814, Nancy born about 1827, William Born about 1832, John Born about 1834, Thomas. Born about 1845. Aquilla is found in Garrard County Kentucky in the 1810 Federal Census page 209 with two (2) boys under the age of ten (10), and he himself is in the 25-45 age bracket, with a wife wife in the 16-26 bracket. This would indicate that Jane had not been born yet, so there should be two (2) sons near Jane's age. He was then in Mercer County when Phoebe was born, and where she married Samuel Winsor (Jane Winsor). Aquilla is then found in Breckinridge County census in 1840, and Bullitt County census 1850 with possible second wife Frances (Frances Pugh?)? It is possible that the Aquilla in Breckinridge is not Aquilla Sr., but Aquilla Jr.
  According to Filson Club records Aquilla PEW was bondsman for the marriage of Rebecca Ashlock on Oct 11, 1815, in Garrard County. Kentucky. He also was bondsman for Elizabeth PEW (Elizabeth Middleton) when she married Walter Middleton on Feb 20 1829 in Garrard County, Kentucky, so I think this may be another daughter. He was bondsman when Phoebe PEW (Phoebe Windsor) married Sam Windsor on Nov 22, 1829, in Garrard County Kentucky.

I am searching for information on my grandfather, George Washington PUGH, born in Atlanta, Georgia, 2-19-1866--and died on 1-15-1937 in Mill Creek, Oklahoma. He was married to Dora CASTLEBERRYastleberry---they came from Georgia to Mill Creek, Oklahoma. My father’s name was Clabe PUGH, and he had a twin brother named Clayton PUGH. • PUGH ... 19Aug2003 ... William E. PUGH.... I am looking for information on a William E. Pugh born about 1805. He had land dealing with William Hudgins son of Humprey Hudgins Jr. in 1835. I am trying to find out if this William E. PUGH is my husbands gggrandfather. He was married to Adalaide J. HUDGINS born in 1820. She was the daughter William Hudgins B: June 1774 D: 1820 and Judith KEMP Hudgins B:1783 D: unknown. William Hudgins parents were John Hudgins B: ABT 1740 and Sarah MORGAN Hudgins. Thanks. • PEUGH ... 06Sep2003 ... Parents of Catherine PEUGH ...  She married John JOHNSTON early 1800's maybe. Their son, Samuel PEUGH JOHNSTON was born 1816(?) in Canada, and died about 1854 in Illinois. • PUGH ... 17Feb2004 ... William Thomas PUGH ... was in Carter County, Tennessee and moved to Kentucky and maybe on to Missouri. He was married twice that I know of. • PUGH ... 18Feb2004 ... John T PUGH family. He was born January 1851 in Tennessee. Have him in Obion County, Tennessee 1880 census with wife, Nancy, but have not been able to go any further back. • PUGH, wife of Abel ... 20Feb2004 ... She lived c1775-1830, and  was the mother of my great great grandmother, Nancy PUGH , who married Ivey CADENHEAD in Hancock CO. Georgia in 1821. Nancy's siblings were Amy, Naomi, Frances, Penelope, William W. and Thomas. Abel is believed to have been born in North Carolina, and could have married in North Carolina, possibly Nash or Johnson County or in Georgia. My name is Judith Busch at E-Mail.

• PUGH ... 28Mar2004 ... Gillean PUGH family. AKA: Gillian Pugh, Gilly Pugh, Jillean Pugh, Julia Ann Pugh. ... She was born in Kentucky about 1817. She moved to Decatur or Ripley County Indiana when she was 11. She married John W. Newman, who was also born in Kentucky, on April 7, 1831 in Decatur County, Indiana. On her marriage record, her name is Gillian Pugh. In the 1850 census from Ripley County, Jackson Township, Indiana, she states she is 34 and her name is Julia Ann. The children of John W. Newman and Gillean Pugh Newman listed in the 1850 census are: John 18, William H. 14, Sarah Jane 11, Rebecca Ann 8, Nancy 6, Emily Jane 3, Katherine 1. All are born in Indiana. In the 1860 census, she is living with John W. Newman in the same place as in 1850. She says her name is Gilly Ann Newman. Two children have been added: James B. 8, and Samuel M. 2 (my g grandfather). In 1870, she is listed as Gillian A Newman, 54. In the household are Emma 23, Bernard 18, and Samuel M. 12. In the 1880 census, Gillean is not found. There is a Susan Newman 65, living with Bernard 22 and Samuel M. 21, both listed as sons. No record of Susan Newman is found prior to this record. We know James B. filed an Inquest of Insanity in 1878. Gillean died January 22, 1891 in Miami County, Indiana, where she was living with her youngest son, Samuel M. She is buried in the Clymer Cemetery, Miami County, Indiana. There are several land transactions, and her name is listed as Gillean on those records. Pughs living in Decatur, Dearborn, and Ripley County were Lot Pugh, Enoch Pugh, James Paugh, Solomon Paugh and John C Peugh. • PUGH ... 29Mar2004 ... Margaret PUGH/Marguerite PUGH ... She was born 17nov1906 in USA, possibly in Mississippi or Pennsylvania, and adopted and brought up in Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia , Canada.. I don't know if she was legally adopted or not, but she kept her own name anyway.  She had a brother, Does anyone have such a person in their database? His father was William Thomas Pugh b. Carter County, Tennessee. Children were: Dora b.1874, Kentucky; Elzoria b.1875, Kentucky ... William W. b.1880, Kentucky ... Emelue b. 1882, Kentucky ... unknown child. They left Kentucky. for Missouri in the vicinity of Grassy in Bollinger County, Missouri. Any info on this family would be very much appreciated.

• PUGH ... Jack PUGH... 18Jun2004 ... I am looking for information on Jack Pugh, b Dec 7, 1898, Mobile,Alabama. He left Alabama as a teen and came to SE Texas. He had cousins here, however I have no information on them. He left Alabama because of a mean parent/grandparent and never returned there. He did not talk about his past, and his own children (including my dad) did not know his parents names or if he had siblings. His mothers' maiden name may have been NOBLE, but not for certain. I am wanting to find out who his parents were so I can get on with this research. I am getting frustrated because I keep coming up a blank wall. Thank you for any help.

William was born December 23, 1805 in Frederick County, Virginia. He was married on January 22, 1835 in Greene County, Ohio to Elizabeth Shoemaker who was born October 5, 1815 in Shenandoah County/valley, Virginia. According to the census, Elizabeth Shoemaker's parents were born in Virginia. William Pugh died June 1, 1878 in Mahaska County, Iowa.
