Elizabeth HIGGINS, father Joseph HIGGINS of WVA and PA owned land both places. Catherine m. Jacob KING around 1855 or so.. Jacob KING died 1880's have data. HE was older than Catherine by about 15 years or so.. Catherine Hoffman or HUFFMAN KING m MR. DODD, moved METZ <WVA they lived in METZ< have letters from her there. HIS son lived with them and helped with farm work... Catherine died between 1911 and 1918.. We believe it to be 1911. Appreciate any help any one can give.. Thank you God Bless. Happy hunting. These families are from NJ - Cadmus from Bayonne, Dodd possibly from Pompton Plains, NJ - Dutch Reformed Church in Pompton Plains is where I found the tombstone. Dodd ... 16Aug1999 ... Emily DODD ... PARENTS of b. Oct 26, 1845 d. 13 Nov 1907. She married ca 1881 Lewis Newell Jones b. Dec. 15, 1853, Hall County, GA d. May 6, 1933. Emily and Lewis N. Jones lived their lives in Hall/Banks/Madison/Oglethorpe Co area. Have not fixed every census year. According to information from her grandson, Watson Jones, Emily's parents were Lige Dodd and Martha Shaw. I have found a Martha in 1870 Union County, GA. I am wondering if the Lige is a nickname. Lige b. unknown. d. Bef. 1870. I made the assumption of his death based on information on a Martha Dodd HH# 917, Union County, GA 1870 Census. Maybe even died before 1850 as I find a Martha Dod in the following census. 1850 Census of Lumpkin County, GA p. 087: Martha Dod 30 F ... Mary 17 F ... John 15 M ... Marvin 13 M ... Harry 11 M ... Sarah 9 F ... Rebecca 7 F ... Martin 5 M ... Nancy 2 F ... Martha 7/12 F. But where is my Emily??? 2: William Dodd and Mary Pierce had a son named John b. abt. 1786. John married Sarah STONE.
3: John Dodd and Sarah Stone had 12 children together (I have all their names); one of which was William DODD b. Aug. 1817, who married Malinda SKAGGS in Monroe Co., VA on July 2, 1840.
4: William Dodd and Malinda Skaggs had 6 known children. One of which is William Remley DODD b. abt 1840? who married (1) Caroline PAXTON and (2) Matilda GIBSON.
5: William Remley Dodd and Matilda Gibson (my great grandmother) - One of their children was Ocie Viola DODD-STARCHER (my grandmother).
