Ray Leonard Kidwell, 92, of Rt. 1, Box 161A, Paw Paw,
W.Va., died Saturday, Aug. 5, 2000, in Hampshire Memorial
Hospital.
Mr. Kidwell was born Oct. 22, 1907, in Levels, W.Va.,
the son of Howard A. Kidwell and Cora M. Brelsford
Kidwell. He worked for the West Virginia Department of
Highways and for 46 years operated a saw mill.
He was a member of Mt. Union Christian Church, Paw
Paw, and served on the church's cemetery association. He
was a member of Modern Woodmen of America.
He married Viola E. Chilcott on Dec. 24, 1931, in
Romney, W.Va.
Surviving with his wife are a daughter, Shirley M.
Ludwick of Winchester; a son, Franklin Kidwell of Paw
Paw; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; nine
step-great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
A son, Dailey Kidwell, died in 1988.
A funeral will be at 11 A.M. Tuesday in the McKee
Funeral Home Chapel, Augusta, W.Va., with the Rev. Ansel
Peer officiating. Burial wil be in Mt. Union Cemetery,
Paw Paw.
Pallbearers will be Michael Kidwell, Christopher
Kidwell, Kelly Kidwell, Franklin Kidwell II, Roland
Kidwell, and Shayne Shingleton.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight
at the funeral home.

Viola Ethel Kidwell, 92, of Paw Paw, WVa., died Thursday,
May 15, 2003, in Personally Yours Adult Care Home, Three
Churches, W.Va.
Mrs. Kidwell was born Feb. 28, 1911, in Capon Bridge,
W.Va., the daughter of Arch John and Martha Jane Whitlock
Chilcott. She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Union
Christian Church.
She married Ray L. Kidwell [Ray
Leonard Kidwell on Ancestors of Cora
Brelsford Kidwell] on Dec. 24, 1931, in Romney, W.Va.
Mr. Kiidwell died Aug. 5, 2000.
Surviving are a daughter, Shirley M. Ludwick of
Winchester, a son, Franklin A. Kidwell of Paw Paw; eight
grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
A funeral will be 1 p.m. Sunday at McKee Funeral Home,
Augusta, W.Va., with the Rev. Ansel Peer officiating.
Burial will be in Mt. Union Cemetery, Paw Paw.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
Saturday at the funeral home.
