>CLARK CEMETERY<

Brooks County, Georgia

The Clark cemetery is located about 1/2 mile east of an intersection known locally as Sand Hill. At that intersection is a store, a peanut mill and a rodeo area. Sand Hill is at the intersection of Georgia 122 and the Tallokas Road. The cemetery is nestled under a couple of large trees as can be seen in the picture. I have never seen the cemetery when it was mowed so I do not know if there is anyone who consistently takes care of it. I also do not know the history of the cemetery but feel rather sure it is a family cemetery. I would entertain some thoughts on that part if anyone wishes to share that and would like for it to be included on this site. It is encompassed by a chain link fence so I know that someone cared enough to keep the cemetery intact.

The headstones that are seen here are the only visible headstones that I found. There may be other burials in the cemetery, but, they are unmarked if there are any. One other thing; the gate to the cemetery is on the road side. When the new roadwork was done the ditch came right to the fence making it very hard to access the cemetery. The last time I looked, there was no entrance road. The ditch took its place. If you visit the area then be ready to do some walking through weeds and such.
