Return to Abraham & Mary Hunt Marshall Page From "The Book of Records of the Marriage Certificates in Darby Meeting 1694-1848", page 96: "Whereas Abraham Marshall of Darby in the County of Chester and Province of Pensilvania Husbandman and Mary Hunt daughter of James Hunt of Kingsees in the County of Philadelphia haveing declared theire Intentions of takkeing Each other as Husband and wife befor Severall mens and womens Meetings of the people of God called Quakers According to the Good order used amongst them whose proseedings therein after deliberet Considderation thereof and Consent of partys and Relations Concerned all whom it may concerne that for the full Accomplishing of their Said Intentions this Sevententh day of the first month 1702/3 Then the said Abraham Marshall and Mary Hunt appeared in a publique & Sollemne Assembly of the aforesaid people mett together at the Meeting house in Darby Aforesaid and According to ye Example of the Holy men of God & recorded in the Scriptures of Truth he the said Abraham Marshall takeing Mary Hunt by the hand did openly declare as ffolloweth; ffriends in the fears of the Lord and in the Audience of you his people I take this my ffriend Mary Hunt to be my Wife promising unto hir to be a ffaithfull and loveing husband till the Lord by death Shall Sepperat us; and then and there in the Said Assembly the said Mary Hunt did in Like Maner declare as ffolloweth - ffriends in the feare of the Lord and in the Audience of you his people I take this my ffriend Abraham Marshall to be my Husband promising unto him to be a Loveing and faithfull Wife tille the Lord by death Shall Sepperat us, And the Said Abraham Marshall and Mary Hunt as a ffurther Confirmation thereof did then and theire to these presents Sett their hands; and we whose names are hereunto subscribed being present amongst others att the Solemnizing of their said Marraige and Subscription as wittnesses thereunto doe alsoe Subscribe our Names ye days and years above written. /s/ Abraham Marshall Mary Marshall Ann Hunt, Sarah Marshall, Elizabeth Jackson, Sarah Bonsall, Ann Garrett, Elizabeth Ffearne, Eliz.
