Pictured below is Josephine "Josie"  Woodard and Columbus Woodard.  Both of these people are in my direct line of ancestry.  Columbus and Josie were brother and sister...both the children of Matt and Betty Woodard.

Columbus was married to Annie Christine Bowers.  She was called "Teenie".  Among their children was Betty Woodard who was the second wife of Thomas Henry Brendle (1880-1955).  My grandpa, Zeb T. Brendle is their son.  Then...
"Josie"  Woodard married "Cal" Bridges.  Among their children was Robert Lee Bridges who married Lucy Cochran.  My grandma, Viola Bridges Brendle is their daughter.  Zeb and Viola Brendle (my paternal grandparents) both have the same Great-grandparents, Matt and Betty Woodard.
Things like this is what will drive someone new to genealogy absolutely nuts for awhile.
If you have any stories about these people or the Alarka community you would like to share...I would love to hear from you.

The three old cemeteries on Alarka are Brendle Cemetery (or Brendle Hill cemetery), Cochran and Mason Branch cemeteries.
The Alarka community is rich with History...I only wish that when I sit along side the creek there that the landscape could talk to me and tell me what it's seen.

I am also connected to the Parris families from Larkie.  Andrew Coleman "Andy" Parris and his sons John and Taylor were not in my direct line but Andy's brother Issac David or Dave Parris is.  Dave and Andy were the sons of Andrew Jackson "Jack" Parris.  Jack was my 3rd great grandpa.

I am also searching for another Parris.  I have seen it mentioned that Cal Bridges mother was a Sarah Parris.  So far, I have not found any information on her.

If you came to these pages through Rootsweb you can view information about my Parris line by clicking on the links for "Mountain Kin home" and following the links there.

I have much more genealogy than what i have written within the Mountain Kin site but I do not have a GEDCOM file to share  Some of it would possibly be unconfirmed and I do not wish to add to the confusion that sometimes happens when searching for family trees.  Maybe people are sometimes in a rush to post their ancestors before confirming the info...I'm not sure...but i see untold amounts of false data...not intentional I'm sure...but can still be very misleading.  Thank you for visiting my site and for more info on these families feel free to contact me.
